Silver Birch Golf Course at Betws-yn-Rhos is becoming one of the most popular nine hole golf courses on the North Wales golfing scene. Situated in a natural hollow between the sea and hills, the course was completed in the summer of 1995 and offers a "pay and play" facility unrivalled for its scenic qualities and interesting terrain.
Designed with the complete amateur in mind, the course is also a very challenging one for the low handicap player. Many a keen golfer has cursed the "Grand Canyon" which, as the name implies, is played over a gorge with a stream in the bottom. The 9 hole Plas Course was added in 2004 allowing 18 different holes to be played by playing both the Old Course and Plas Course.

The less committed player could be forgiven for a lapse of concentration to simply stand and enjoy the views from the course which take in lush green pastures, wooded hillsides and the village of Betws-yn-Rhos nestling in the shelter of the hills with its attractive twin tower Church at its centre.

For "apres golf" the village offers a wealth of facilities for those seeking refreshment. The Wheatsheaf Inn and the Llais Afon offer lunches and evening meals and the nearby Ffarm Hotel is famous for its evening cuisine. For those wishing to make the most of the golf and the locality, B&B accommodation is available in and around the village and there are also conveniently situated caravan sites or chalets.
The course is easily and quickly accessible from the North Wales coastal resorts with Conwy, Llandudno, Colwyn Bay and Rhyl all within a pleasant half hour drive. The course is on the edge of Betws-yn-Rhos on the left hand side as you enter from the Dolwen direction.
